International Historical Statistics is an impressive and peerless collection of statistical data from around the world, covering a wide range of socio-economic topics. The collection includes data on the Americas and Europe, but also hard-to-find data on Africa, Asia and Oceania. It is a truly interdisciplinary product that will prove a valuable resource to those researching and studying Business, Economics, Environmental Studies, Geography, History, Politics, Sociology and Statistical Studies.

This new release updates the last print edition of International Historical Statistics, which was published in 2007 in 3 volumes. It now includes 260 years of rich data, collected between 1750-2010 and available online for the first time. Users will find the ability to conduct statistical analysis across both time and geopolitical boundaries particularly valuable. Data tables can be downloaded as ePDFs and/or Excel files.

New Wiley-Blackwell journal agreement

The Library has signed up to the new JISC Collections NESLi2 'Big Deal' journal agreement with Wiley-Blackwell.

Under the new agreement, which runs for 3 years from 2012 to 2014, we have decided to cancel a few low-use (but usually high-price) titles and we have been able to fund a subscription to Geography Compass which was requested in this year's journals review.

The previous agreement started in 2009 and the collection of titles that it included had been static sincethen. This new agreement includes over 130 additional titles which will be available to us from the start of 2012 (including History Compass which was also request in the journals review, and Literature Compass):

We have purchased the backfiles of the journals Environment & Planning A-D and Perception from Pion so we now have access to the entire content of these journals back to volume one. Catalogue records and SFX / find it @ liverpool have been updated.
