Web of Science now available back to 1898/99

We have purchased Century of Science and Century of Social Science from Thomson Reuters. This means that we now have access to Science Citation Index back to 1899 and Social Sciences Citation Index back to 1989.

Just follow our links to http://www.isiknowledge.com.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/ as usual. If you want to concentrate your search on older content then click on the Web of Science tab and use suitable date limiters in the search form.

We have purchased the ACS Symposium Series online from 1974 to date, and access is now available from http://pubs.acs.org.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/series/symposium. We will be adding catalogue records for all titles soon.

The ACS Symposium Series contains high-quality, peer-reviewed books developed from the ACS technical divisions' symposia. Each chapter is carefully authored by an expert in the field, and the collection of chapters edited by an internationally recognized leader in the field. The series covers a broad range of topics including agricultural and food chemistry, cellulose and renewable materials, chemical education, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials, and many others.

Oxford Scholarship Online Law collection

We have purchased the Oxford Scholarship Online Law collection and access is available now from http://www.oxfordscholarship.com.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/oso/public/law/subject_home.html. We will be adding catalogue records for all titles soon.

The Oxford Scholarship Online collection includes titles from the series: Oxford Studies in European Law, Oxford Monographs in International Law, Oxford Monographs in Criminal Law and Justice, Clarendon Studies in Criminology, Oxford Monographs in Labour Law, Oxford Studies in Modern Legal History, Oxford Studies in International Economic Law, and the International Courts and Tribunals series, alongside other works selected from OUP legal publishing.

We have purchased the initial collection of 150 titles. More titles are added every 4 months, but we will only have access to those if we purchase those updates.

ScienceDirect Veterinary Medicine e-books

We have purchased Elsevier's 2000-2008 Veterinary Medicine e-books collection and access is available now from http://www.sciencedirect.com.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/science/books/vetscimed/vetmed. We will be adding catalogue records for all titles soon.

The collection includes key titles such as Auer & Stick's
Equine Surgery, Fubini's Farm Animal Surgery, Rebhun's Diseases of Dairy Cattle, and Burk's Small Animal Radiology and Ultrasonography, and includes about 130 titles altogether.

Our purchase also includes online access to the
Encyclopedia of Dairy Sciences and the Encyclopedia of Meat Sciences.

Institution of Civil Engineers e-books now available

We have purchased the complete set of Institution of Civil Engineers e-books and access is now available from http://www.icevirtuallibrary.com.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/content/books. We will be adding catalogue records for all titles soon.

The collection contains over 750 volumes, including over 250 individual e-books, over 70 conference proceedings, and 5 multi-volumes sets. It covers all civil engineering disciplines and related areas.

We also now have access to our ICE e-journals (including archives) on this site, and we will update our links to these soon.

Royal Society of Chemistry e-books now available

We have purchased the complete set of Royal Society of Chemistry e-books and access is now available from http://www.rsc.org.ezproxy.liv.ac.uk/Publishing/eBooks/index.asp and we now have catalogue records for them.

The collection contains over 800 titles published from 1968 to date, and includes titles aimed at undergraduates, postgraduates and staff.

The collection covers many subject areas (including the environment, materials science and nanoscience) - and indeed should appeal to anyone who likes beer or chocolate!

Emerald backfiles now available

We have purchased the backfiles of Emerald journals and access is now available. These backfiles include 68,000 articles from over 120 journals back to Volume 1. Emerald publish mainly in the field of business and management, but also publish a number of engineering journals.

We have updated SFX / find it @ liverpool and are in the process of updating our catalogue records.

Caribbean Literature now available

We have purchased the Caribbean Literature database from Alexander Street Press and access is now available from:

Caribbean Literature is a searchable collection of poetry and fiction produced in the region during the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the titles selected by our editors are numerous rare and hard-to-find works written in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and various Creole languages. Future releases will also feature journals, reference works, and interviews with key writers. New content is uploaded on a biweekly basis, giving users immediate access to a steadily growing treasury of classic, rare, and contemporary literature. The database currently has over 63,000 pages.

British Literary Manuscripts Online, c. 1660-1900, presents facsimile images of literary manuscripts, including letters and diaries, drafts of poems, plays, novels, and other literary works, and similar materials. Searching is based on tags and descriptive text associated with each manuscript. Images of the complete manuscript can be viewed, manipulated and navigated on screen. Please note that the text of the manuscripts themselves is not searchable.
