Harold Cohen Library Refurbishment Update
Once complete the work, which has been taking place over the summer months, will provide a new look reception area, an additional 220 study spaces, more power sockets, more social seating space, as well as a postgraduate study room and eight new bookable group study rooms.
The entrance and reception work will be complete next week. Until then there is a temporary entrance and reception at the side of the Library on Ashton Street, next to the Sherrington Building. A Help Desk and Welcome Pod can also be found in HCC2. Please note, the library will be unable to take cash and card payments until the main reception is open. Payments can be taken in the Sydney Jones Library.
Work desks are currently being installed in the upper ground floor Small Group Study Room which will be open next week along with the new social areas on either side of the ground floor entrance, the Refreshments and Group Study Room on the Ground floor, and the new Postgraduate Study Room.
All of the book stock areas are open to students except floor 2 (formerly Stack 6) which we hope to open by the end of the week. Books from this floor will be retrieved by library staff on request.
Work is continuing on the remaining group study floors 3 and 4, which are likely to be complete and ready for use at the end of September.
Further information about the redevelopment can be found at the dedicated website - http://hclrefurb.liv.ac.uk/ - or via Twitter @LivUniLibrary.
