TRIAL: Churchill Archive

We have a trial of the Churchill Archive until 27th April 2013.

To access this trial go to: http://www.churchillarchive.com/index (on campus).

Launched in October 2012 by Bloomsbury Publishing in collaboration with the Churchill Archives Centre, the Churchill Archive is a digital library of modern international history available online for the first time. It includes more than 800,000 pages of original documents, produced between 1874 and 1965, ranging from Winston S. Churchill’s personal correspondence to his official exchanges with kings, presidents, politicians, and military leaders. This is a unique online resource offering new insight into a fascinating period of our past.

After trying the Churchill Archive, please leave your comments below. You can choose the anonymous option to comment without needing to have a Blogger account, but it helps if you include your name in your feedback so that we can follow up on comments.

This would be an extremely useful resource for a wide range of modules: modern history - would support dissertation research; digital histories (ditto) and archives (it is a good example of a resource which is both digital and very searchable in appropriate archival hierarchies, so would support both teaching of digitisation and cataloguing).
