Telephone renewals only available during staffed hours

The Library's automated telephone renewals service is currently out of service.

However, you can still use the same phone number - 0151 794 5010 - to speak to a member of staff (see staffed hours), who will be happy to renew your books for you.

You can also continue to use My Library Record as normal to renew your books any time.

Borrowing books over Christmas

The Library remains open during the Christmas vacation (see opening hours) and the loan procedure remains unchanged throughout this period.

This means that books will incur fines if they are not renewed or returned by the due date.

  • - You can renew your books online via My Library Record
  • - You can use the 24/7 telephone renewal line: 0151-794-5010

You are allowed 12 renewals on 14-day and 7-day loan items and 6 renewals on 3-day loan items. Once this limit has been reached you need to return the books to the Library, remove them from your record and start the loan process afresh. You cannot take them out again or renew them if they have been requested by another user.

A requested book can be posted back to the Library. Please ensure that you obtain receipt of postage. Postal address:

University of Liverpool Library,

Sydney Jones Library/Harold Cohen Library,

PO BOX 123,
