HCL Refurbishment - 28 May Update

More news about the refurbishment, which officially starts this Friday, 30 May, at 10.00 pm.

First, a reminder that the Harold Cohen Library will be closed this weekend, and each weekend till the end of the work. See Opening Hours.

Two of our Self Service PCs have been dismantled, including the one on the 1st floor. There is now just one available, in the ground floor Service Desk area. To prevent queues building up, books can be borrowed and returned at the staffed desks. Fines need to be paid at these desks too, as the remaining Self Service PC does not accept fines payments.

The Walk-In access PC for Library customers without an MWS login has been removed. The Sydney Jones Library has facilities for Walk-In access.

The photocopy card machine, also for Library customers without an MWS login, has been disconnected – cards can now be bought at the Service Desk.

The change machine has been removed. Please ask for change at the Service Desk - we will try to keep enough coins in the till to meet demand, though at times this may not be possible.

All parts of the Library are now accessible by the normal routes, though the ground floor Disabled toilet remains closed and the Women's toilets in the basement will still be closed overnight because of a lack of lighting.

Further information about what is planned for the summer, can be found on the HCL Refurbishment website.
