Volunteers sought for a focus group on use of other libraries

The University of Liverpool participates in a number of access and borrowing schemes. The Higher Education library community wants to make sure that library visitor ‘access’ schemes meet users’ real needs for resources, services, and support.

SCONUL, the UK-wide university and colleges library group, is therefore holding library user focus groups in 12 locations across the UK in order to capture user experiences and expectations – what works, what doesn’t, what’s essential and what’s desirable when accessing another library.

The focus groups will last just 1 hour and will be facilitated by independent experts familiar with library services in the UK and beyond. They are interested in hearing from users familiar with accessing other libraries and from others with no experience but with a view about what would be useful.

The focus group at University of Liverpool will take place at 10 am on Thursday 8th December in the Taylor Room, Sydney Jones Library. If you are willing to participate, please e-mail Laura Dunn, l.dunn@liv.ac.uk. Tea and coffee will be provided.
