New - Demand-Driven Acquisition of E-Books

We are pleased to announce that we have introduced a new way of buying ebooks using a company called Ebook Library.

Ebook Library’s innovative Demand Driven Acquisition means that we’re now able to offer an additional 45,000 ebooks for you to browse. Furthermore it’s you, our users, who choose which of those books the library will purchase in perpetuity. The books will all be accessible from Discover and access to them will be immediate.

This Demand driven way of purchasing books means that it is our users who decide which books we purchase and it will ensure that we have access to the books our students, academics and researchers need exactly when they need them.

Demand Driven Acquisition is part of a new library initiative called ‘Resources for Courses’. We’ll be giving you more details about what else we have planned for ‘Resources for Courses’ over the coming weeks and months, so look out for more information on that.

But for now if you want to find out more about this new way of buying ebooks, just ask us…
