TRIAL: Rock's Backpages

We have a trial of Rock's Backpages until 28th March 2007. To access this trial go to Rock's Backpages and when prompted login with the trial username and password.

Rock's Backpages is an online database of rock music writing, with material dating from the early 1960s to the present day. The library of articles includes reviews, interviews and features which are fully searchable and presented in full-text. The database also includes mp3 audio files of original artist interviews, which have not previously been made available to a broad audience. There are now approximately eleven thousand articles on the site, featuring over two thousand artists with around fifty new articles being added each week.

JISC Collections are consulting about an agreement for Rock's Backpages. Details of the proposal, including pricing, are available
here. Scroll down the page!

I think this is a really useful resource and, if we could get a subscription, would be a real bonus for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Music.

This is an excellent resoure, and would be very useful to many staff and students in the humanities, not only in the School of Music. I fully support its acquisition.
